Italian court overturns Google executives’ privacy convictions - jacksonhimmen1955
A Milan appeals court Friday overturned the article of faith of three Google managers for violating Italy's privateness laws by allowing the posting of a television showing the intimidation of a handicapped student.
The executives—Elder V.P. Saint David Drummond, Chief Legal Officer Peter Fleischer and Chief Privacy Counsel George Pablo Neruda—were handed suspended six-month prison sentences by a Milan assize court in February 2010 for allowing the disturbing television to be posted on the Google Video website.
The appellate court upheld the lower court's decision to assoil the threesome Google executives of defamation, confirming the assize Margaret Court's acquittal thereon charge of Arvind Desikan, the early head of Google Video Europe.
The 2010 verdict set a legal precedent in Europe by holding executives of an Net operator causative content posted on the Web by a one-third party.

"We're very happy that the verdict has been reversed and our colleagues' name calling have been innocent." Giorgia Abeltino, policy handler for Google Italy, aforesaid in a prepared command.
